The Biotic Message: Evolution Vs. Message Theory
Walter James Remine. 1993. St Paul Science, 542 pages. (hard cover).
The universe including the earth, especially life, was constructed so that a message (scientifically determined) proclaims that life came from a designer. The observable evidence contradicts evolutionary naturalism. The book is authoritative and should be read by scientists and students of science.

By Design: Evidence for Nature’s Intelligent Designer—the God of the Bible
Jonathan Sarfati. 2008. Creation Book Publishers, 260 pages.
Today, the ID (Intelligent Design) movement is capturing headlines (and igniting controversy) around the world. But in the process, many are coming to think that a credible challenge to the dominant Darwinian naturalism of our time means backing away from a clear stand for the truth of the Bible. Dr. Sarfati provides an exhaustive treatment of the subject of design with many examples of extreme design. He also goes into such arguments as supposedly “poorly designed” things, “bad things” in nature, supposed arguments against design, and even tells us Who the designer is.

Darwinism, Design, and Public Education
J.H. Campbell and S. C. Meyer (editors), Michigan State University Press, East Lansing, Michigan, 2003, 634 pages.
Published by proponents of intelligent design (ID), this book contains extensive chapters on the Cambrian explosion and legal issues which take the design arguments to a higher level. Further evidences for intelligent design are provided by articles on information, specified complexity, irreducible complexity, the philosophy of science, the difficult definition of science, and the various confusing definitions of evolution. Biology textbooks undergo a devastating critique for their false icons and misrepresentations of the controversy.
This book is unique in that it allows for responses by various critics of ID. The critics delve mainly into social, political, and educational issues, but they rarely address the many scientific challenges presented by ID proponents. They lean primarily on rhetorical arguments, showing that their case against ID is scientifically weak.
The reader is reminded to exercise caution, since a few of the ID proponents make unsubstantiated statements of their belief in evolution, an old earth, or a local Noachian Flood. Still, there is much that can be learned.

Darwin’s Nemesis: Phillip Johnson and the Intelligent Design Movement
William A. Dembski (editor), 2006. Inter-Varsity Press, 357 pages.
This book reviews and celebrates the life and thought of Phillip Johnson and the movement for which he has served as chief architect. There are eighteen essays by research scientists and philosophers who have known and worked with Johnson for more than a decade. There are even two chapters by friendly critics, Michael Ruse and David Berlinski. Stephen Meyer’s Intelligent Design article, published in a secular journal, is also reprinted. As a result of its publication, the editor of the journal was severely castigated for allowing its publication. This incident exposes the lie that creationists are free to publish in the secular journals.

Debating Design from Darwin to DNA
William A. Dembski and Michael Ruse (editors). 2004. Cambridge University
Press, 405 pages (hard cover).
This is a unique book published
by a well-known secular
publishing house. Three
groups of critics try to dismantle
intelligent design (ID), but
the ID advocates are given the chance
to answer their critics in the latter part
of the book. The critics are the Darwinists, others
who believe in complex self-organization, and theistic
evolutionists. They sometimes seem to have cogent
arguments, but often employ much ad hominem criticism.
Only rarely do they address the main arguments
of ID, and they have the habit of making unsupported
accusations of young earth creationism. ID advocates
do a superb job in answering the challenges, especially
to Kenneth Miller’s seemingly ID-falsifying assertions.
The book provides insights into the current positions
of the critics, but the reader should use discernment.

Pioneer Explorers of Intelligent Design: Scientists Who Made a Difference
Don DeYoung. 2006. BMH Books, 101 pages (paperback)
Written by CRS President Dr. Don DeYoung, this book gives a fascinating look at the spiritual biographies of 128 great scientists, explorers, astronomers, mathematicians, and physical scientists. Focusing on many lesser known, but talented and significant contributors of early scientific exploration, Dr. DeYoung reveals how their faith was an intricate part of their scientific work. This book also includes an intriguing “Missing Persons” section, in which 16 great thinkers who did not profess a Christian testimony are discussed. These include Charles Darwin, Marie Curie, Stephen Gould, Thomas Huxley, and Carl Sagan.

The Politically Incorrect Guide to Darwinism and Intelligent Design
Jonathan Wells. August 2006. Regnery Publishing. 288 pages.
Evolutionists often make the grandiose claim that evolution is based upon “overwhelming evidence.” Dr. Wells skillfully counters this claim showing there is no "overwhelming evidence" for Darwinism. Instead he argues that what many public schools teach about Darwinism is based on known falsehoods. Yet, these falsehoods continue to be promoted by both educators and scientists. Dr. Wells also reasons that Intelligent Design is based on scientific evidence, not religious belief; and that many scientists at major universities accept in intelligent design. He further challenges the motives and rationale employed by the evolutionary establishment to coheres and intimidate their distracters.

Total Truth: Liberating Christianity from Its Cultural Captivity
Nancy Pearcey. 2004. Crossway Books, 480
pages (hard cover).
Christianity is a total worldview,
but because the Church
has not realized this, the
Church has given over culture,
science, politics, education,
etc. to the naturalists. This is part of the
sacred/secular or value/fact split. We are
even losing our children as a result. This book
describes the problem and provides the solution. For
us to realize that everything is within the sphere of
Christianity, and there is no sacred/secular split, we
need to get back to creation and jettison Darwinism.
