Astronomy and Creation: An Introduction
Donald B. DeYoung. 1995. Creation Research Society, 59 pages.

This book is the first in a series of short introductory readers published by the Creation Research Society. The heavens (as well as the earth itself) declare the clear message of creation. The vast distances and numberless stars of deep space are simply beyond our comprehension. Among all the sciences, surely astronomy is the best teacher of humility. What then do the heaves teach us from a creation perspective? This book considers five particular areas: origins, order, structure, time scale, and change. The reader will find this treatment of “outer space” to be a refreshing alternative to much of today’s scientific thinking.

The Astronomy Book: Wonders of Creation
Jonathan Henry. 1999. Master Books, 80 pages. (hard cover).

Full-color book on astronomy for junior high to adults. The reader will acquire a wealth of knowledge on such subjects as the solar system, galaxies, supernovas, asteroids, comets, and astronomical catastrophes. Speculative secular ideas about the Big Bang, the origin of the Moon, the origin of the solar system from a collapsing dust and gas cloud, star birth, life on Mars, and all extraterrestrial life are examined and found wanting.

Creation and Time: A Report on the Progressive Creationist Book by Hugh Ross
Mark Van Bebber, and Paul S. Taylor. 1994. Films for Christ, 128 pages.

From the Bible, authors Van Bebber and Taylor bring to the reader a revealing critique of Progressive Creationism's most visible proponent, Dr. Hugh Ross. Not only does Ross claim that the biblical Flood was local, not global, but he also teaches that death and bloodshed existed for billions of years prior to Adam and Eve's sin. Dr. Ross contends that the simplest reading of Genesis reveals overlapping Creation "days" of billions of years beginning with the "Big Bang." He charges that those Christians who believe otherwise are out of touch with reality and are making it nearly impossible for modern people to accept the Bible and Christ. Van Bebber and Taylor bring careful and accurate biblical study to bear on each of these claims (and many more), revealing numerous errors in theology and misuse of Hebrew. In an increasingly secularized society where the Bible is being reinterpreted at point after point, many will find this to be a significant and helpful book.

Design and Origins in Astronomy
Edited by George Mulfinger, Jr. 1983. CRS Monograph Series No. 2. Creation Research Society Books, 151 pages.

This book presents a teleological study of the universe - a creationist challenge to modern materialistic thought. Written in the 1970's, many of the arguments remain valid in the 1990's and are of historical as well as scientific interest. Authors include George Mulfinger, Donald DeYoung, John Whitcomb, Emmett Williams, Paul Steidl, and Paul Wilt. A wide range of topics is presented - initial state of the universe, a thermodynamics approach, the red shift controversy, nucleosynthesis, and creationist views concerning the origin of the solar system and the universe - as well as a Scriptural framework for astronomy.

Dismantling the Big Bang — God’s Universe Rediscovered
Alex Williams and John Hartnett. 2005. Master Books, 346 pages.

The Big Bang model has provided a central teaching for the eons of time for “cosmic evolution,” undermining the history and cosmology of the Bible. The authors explode this naturalistic explanation for the universe and show that the biblical model provides a far better explanation of our origins.
